A seasoned privacy, data protection and AI governance specialist, Crystal brings over a decade of experience across the pharmaceutical, aged care, insurance and scientific research sectors.
Crystal’s extensive experience in in-house roles with global or regional responsibility and featuring high-risk digital environments enables her to provide tailored advice which is considerate of operational realities. She thrives on finding solutions which enable clients to achieve their business objectives in privacy protective ways.
Her roles have exposed Crystal to an expansive set of privacy, regulatory analysis, AI governance, digital risk, data localisation, health data restrictions, children’s data protection, cybercrime, telecoms regulation and sector-specific compliance considerations.
Crystal has a special interest in AI, AI governance and futures studies, and has advised extensively on cross-border data transfers and data localisation requirements. Crystal was admitted as an Attorney in South Africa in 2013.
Crystal is a member of the IAPP, and a Certified Information Privacy Professional – Europe (CIPP/E).
